Patients determine what information we disclose

We must always show consideration to individual patients' privacy and the confidentiality of patient data when giving information about accidents. In these days of social media, the identity of a person may be known to the general public very soon after an incident, such as a traffic accident. In order to avoid the hospital disclosing the identity of a person, each patient decides whether we are allowed to confirm that (s)he is in our care and disclose the severity of injuries through anonymised information.

Anonymised information is, for example: Man, age around thirty, serious injuries, condition is serious but stable. If the patient does not give his/her consent for any reason, or if secrecy applies from other authority such as in the case of protected identity, we may not supply any information as a hospital under the Patient Data Act.

Taking photographs in the hospital

To protect patients and visitor's privacy and integrity there is a general ban on photography in the hospital premises and grounds. Permits for photography for media may be given by the press office.
